First, you must see when and how often to send the mailings. Studies show that Tuesdays and Thursdays seem to be the best days to e-mail people. Mondays are possible the worst because of the catching up and starting of a new week for many people. They don’t have time to read all their e-mails.
How often you e-mail is another option you need to research. It can vary anywhere from various times in a day to only once a month. See what works best for you. It depends partly on what you are sending them.
When writing the e-mail, think of a subject line that will interest your reader and make him want to open it up. Do not make it look like junk mail.
The content and length of the e-mail is the next thing you will have to try out and keep track of the results. One wise rule of thumb is to keep it short though. Most people do not have enough time in their day and may easily lose interest if it is too long. When using links in your e-mail, you again should test out different options. Studies however have shown that links that are early in the content of the e-mail will get more clicks. So your best bet would be to place the higher paying links early in the e-mail.
So don’t dismiss the opportunity to make money from your list. The effort will deliver a long term pay off in the end.
